"...One thing that is a puzzle
In this garden we have built -
It's the gardeners, not the flowers,
That are starting, now, to wilt."

Brad Writes all kinds of things

For many years, Brad has been writing poems, essays, and short stories for the entertainment of his friends, colleagues, children and grandchildren. A few years ago, the home schooling art website LilyandThistle.com, invited me to write poems primarily for the Nature’s Art series. the poems were humorous, expressive of beauty and majesty, and taught some of the things the young people were supposed to be learning (butterfly eggs, parts of a mushroom and phases of the moon, for example). That series continues to be a hit.

Having been retired for a few years, he chose to be a teachers’ aide in a school where some of his grandchildren would be attending after having been homeschooled previously. There he observed the children working, learning, and playing together, and wrote some poems based on their adventures.

With the encouragement of parents, children, the staff at Lily & Thistle, and friends. Brad compiled a book entitled My Cow Ate a Tree. Hopefully, it will be the first of more books with a similar theme.

the aim of this little book is to open new ideas, invite curiosity, and for children of all ages to just have fun as they inspect the world around them.
